The route
Amateurs run the Ladurner race: four laps (5 km) of the 1.25 km BOclassic loop, starting and finishing on Piazza Walther and passing the Piazza Erbe market, the Via Portici arcades, Piazza Municipio and Piazza Stazione. The elite women race 5 km and the elite men 10 km on the same loop later that day, with thousands of spectators on the streets.
Start time
Thursday 31 December 2026. Just-for-fun run 10:45, amateur 5 km 11:30, elite men (10 km) 12:50 and elite women (5 km) 13:30. It is a daytime race, so the evening is free for New Year's Eve.
Entry fee
Indicative entry is £39 per runner. Confirm the current bib price on the official site; ballot, charity, and tour prices can differ. Amateur entry is €30 until 24 December, then €35, plus a FIDAL Runcard (€15 for runners from outside Italy) if you do not hold an Italian licence. Entry fees are not refunded.
Registration
Enter online on boclassic.it. Bibs are handed out on race morning only, 08:00–12:00 at the Race Office in the Pfarrheim parish centre (Piazza della Parrocchia 24).
Where to stay
Stay in Bolzano's compact historic centre around Piazza Walther, right on the circuit and steps from restaurants and Christmas-market stalls.
Getting there
SkyAlps flies direct between London Gatwick and Bolzano (BZO) in winter 2026/27, on Wednesdays, Sundays, and Saturdays from 18 December. Otherwise fly to Verona (VRN) and take the train up to Bolzano in about 1h40; Innsbruck (INN) is another option across the Brenner Pass.
That weekend
The race is over by early afternoon, leaving New Year's Eve in the old town. The surrounding Dolomites offer skiing, and Bolzano's Christmas market and Ötzi the Iceman museum fill the rest of the trip.

Day 1: Arrive
Fly into Verona (VRN) and take a Trenitalia train to Bolzano in about 1h40, or take SkyAlps' direct Gatwick–Bolzano flight if the days suit. Book a private transfer from Verona if you prefer door-to-door with kit.
Check into Bolzano historic centre around Piazza Walther . New Year week means Christmas markets and the race loop on your doorstep.

Day 2: Shakedown Run and Explore the City
Bibs are only handed out on race morning ( BOclassic amateur race ), so today is free. Jog an easy shakeout along the Talvera meadows, not on the tight race circuit.
Visit the Ötzi museum or wander the Christmas market. Walk the 1.25 km loop once so the four laps tomorrow hold no surprises.

Day 3: Race Day
Collect your bib at the Race Office (Pfarrheim, Piazza della Parrocchia 24) between 08:00 and 12:00, then walk to Piazza Walther for the 11:30 amateur start. Four laps, 5 km, with thousands of spectators on the streets.
Stay to watch the elite men (12:50) and women (13:30) on the same loop, then rest up for New Year's Eve in the Alpine old town.

Day 4: Final Day
Recovery walk through the Christmas market or Dolomites day trip if legs allow. Train back to Verona for the flight home.
